The first two pony races of the 2012 South East season went to last year's champion George Crate. STRETCHOLT HERMES won the 138cm and under event by a comfortable five lengths from William Rekert on Churchill (getting quite close to a course marker along the way).
In the second race, for larger ponies, George had to fight for his win on debutant EDUARDO, catching Charlie Marshall on Thereshegoes just before the line.
